Bach Around the Clock: 24-hour organ marathon
Donations welcome
March 21, 2017 is J.S. Bach's 332nd birthday. St. John's Episcopal Church is celebrating with a performance of every organ work Bach wrote, performed by one organist, in 24 hours.
Dr. Curt Sather, Organist & Choirmaster at St. John's, will perform Bach's entire opus of organ compositions starting at midnight on March 21, 2017, playing on the church's newly-installed Schlicker organ, which is being completed by Bond Organ Builders of Portland, Oregon.
The church will be open with refreshments available during the entire event. Additionally, the entire performance, all 24 hours of it, will be streamed live. Join them for a true celebration of some of the most glorious music ever composed, on the king of instruments, the pipe organ.
