Carlos Núñez’s Celtic bagpipe playing has been compared to a range of world-class musicians from Jimmy Hendrix to Itzhak Perlman. Núñez has performed many orchestral programmes in Europe, mixing classical, soundtrack, and Celtic music. During his US tours with The Chieftains, Núñez performed with several American orchestras including the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. He has collaborated with classical music luminaries such as legendary soprano Montserrat Caballé, recorder virtuoso Michala Petri, and viola da gamba star Jordi Savall. Núñez has also played on several movie soundtracks including The Sea Inside, Treasure Island, and Silk.
