The Ecco Chamber Ensemble, a trio composed of soprano Stacey Mastrian, flutist and composer Sarah Bassingthwaighte, and guitarist and composer Mark Hilliard Wilson – which builds concerts around the intersection of art and social change – caps off their inaugural season with a program focusing on works that protest the senseless violence in our world and light the way toward peace.  Joining them on this concert will be Storm Benjamin (percussion), Aaron Holmes (trumpet), and Josh Archibald-Seiffer (piano).

The concert features the world premiere of Stephen Lilly's improvisatory work Shifting Power – inspired by the current political situation, a new work by Sarah Bassingthwaighte commemorating poets and scientists executed by Stalin, a percussion piece by Storm Benjamin commemorating victims of gun violence, a work by Steve Wanna that examines group dynamics, and works by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Almer Imamovic, Federico García Lorca, Luigi Nono, Arvo Pärt, Henry Purcell, Arnold Schoenberg, and Heitor Villa-Lobos.

A portion of the proceeds will go toward Americans for Responsible Solutions.
