The Bay Area's early music sensation Agave Baroque and soprano Linda Tsatsanis invite you on a musical pilgrimage through 150 years of sound from the Republic of Venice, featuring works of Milanese nun Margarita Cozzolani, Venetian priest/composers Claudio Monteverdi and Antonio Vivaldi, and Venetian Jewish violin virtuoso and composer Salamone Rossi. Going east, we explore what is now Slovenia through the fiery violin music of Guiseppe Tartini and the elegant preclassical writing of Amandus Ivančić. We finish up in Croatia, exploring the introverted and deeply spiritual solo songs of Ivan Lukačić, Vinko Jelić, and Jakob Frančišek Zupan.
