Soprano Clara Rottsolk and pianist Byron Schenkman present an evening of French chansons and piano pieces, including songs by Gabriel Fauré (“Cinq Mélodies de Venise”), Reynaldo Hahn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Francis Poulenc. Also included on the program will be Mozart’s variations of the French folk song “Ah vous dirai-je, Maman” (AKA “Twinkle, twinkle, little star”) and a suite by Jean-Philippe Rameau.
Inspired by a 19th Century tradition of informal and intimate performances at home, this is no stuffed-shirt event; audiences are encouraged to wear comfortable attire, bring friends, and engage in a highly social and interactive musical experience.
