Georg Philipp Telemann and George Frideric Handel met as young men working at the Hamburg opera. They became two of Europe's most celebrated composers and remained friends all their lives. This program highlights their rich and varied chamber music, featuring Debra Nagy, "a baroque oboist of consummate taste and expressivity" (Cleveland Plain Dealer), and Ingrid Matthews, whose "extraordinary virtuosity was dazzling in the breadth of movement and emotion she conveys" (ArtsHub).

Known as Byron Schenkman & Friends until recently, Sound Salon is a concert series that brings a diverse set of 21st-century perspectives to artistically excellent ensemble music, inspired by European traditions of the 17th through 19th Centuries. Byron Schenkman is Sound Salon's Artistic Director.
