Local musicians, amateurs, and professionals alike perform the music of J.S. Bach for free for the public in celebration of Bach’s 333rd birthday.
1:00-2:00 – Thornton Creek Clarinets performs music of J.S. Bach arranged for clarinets.
2:00-2:30 – Pianist Paul Austin performs Preludes and Fugues from the Well Tempered Clavier (on the stage near the food court).
2:30-2:50 – Kevin Jahne performs preludes and fugues from the Well-Tempered Clavier Book I.
3:00-4:00 – Guitarist David Hahn performs violin sonatas of J.S. Bach on his guitar.
About Bach in the Subways
Bach in the Subways is an international movement founded by cellist Dale Henderson to sow the seeds for future generations of classical music lovers by generating public interest and excitement for the art form. Every year around March 21, Johann Sebastian Bach's birthday, musicians around the world celebrate Bach in the Subways Day by offering performances in subways, public spaces, and concerts open to all. The music is given freely as a gift, and as an invitation to further explore classical music.
