Maestro Mario Alejandro Torres and the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra present a program dedicated to a pair of composers who have stood bravely against oppression and canalized the importance of this message through their masterful works. Received with great acclaim at their premieres, Jean Sibelius’ Finlandia and Antonin Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7 lived on to establish a legacy that immortalized the composers. Also being performed is Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto featuring Emily Jeeho Park, winner of the 2019 Young Artist Concerto Competition.

Join BSO music director and conductor Mario Alejandro Torres for a chat from the podium as he helps set the stage with tips on what to listen for in the concert ahead. This pre-concert chat begins at 2:15pm.
