Brass Band Northwest opens their season with a bang featuring one of the very few works originally written for brass band that received such notoriety that it was transcribed for more common ensembles – The Year of the Dragon by Philip Sparke. They have previously performed other works by Derek Bourgeois and they are looking forward to exploring more of his music such as Metro Gnome on this program.
