Symphony hall music used to great effect in films form the core of this unique concert. Maestro Alan Futterman conducts a triad of pieces from 2001: A Space Odyssey, orchestral favorites The Blue Danube by J. Strauss and Also sprach Zarathustra opening by R. Strauss, and Ligeti's Lux Aeterna featuring the voices of the Bremerton Symphony Chorale (LeeAnne Campos, music director) employed as instruments in the orchestra. A highlight is Bach's Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor from The Godfather in Leopold Stokowski's orchestral arrangement. John Williams' Theme from E.T. joins the program as the single piece actually scored for film.
Pre-concert chat at 6:30pm.
