The year-long celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday continues as Kairos (Carrie Rehkopf and John Michel) is joined by pianist Eduard Zilberkant to present Beethoven’s Violin and Cello Sonatas on Friday, February 28th and Saturday, February 29th.

Yamaha performing artist Eduard Zilberkant and Kairos, the chamber ensemble-in-residence at Central Washington University and Icicle Creek Center for the Arts, resume the series they started in the fall. They will juxtapose some of Beethoven’s early violin sonatas with his late period cello sonatas. In these latter sonatas, Beethoven transfigures traditional sonata structures for more intimate expression and dramatic effect.

Both performances will begin at 7:00 PM in the CWU McIntyre Music Building Hertz Concert Hall, located at 1309 North Alder Street, Ellensburg, WA.

Additional Beethoven celebration performances are upcoming in March. For more information about Kairos, please visit www.thekairos.org or follow Kairos on Facebook (@kairosandfriends) and Instagram (@kairoscwu).

Admission is free and open to the public.
