Classical Tuesdays in Old Town Tacoma: Torch ensemble presents a virtual discussion and demo followed by a performance of Scott Kolbo's Passages: A Fable in 6 Cycles. Available for viewing on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, 7:00pm
TORCH, a Seattle-based contemporary group, perform original and experimental compositions, melding genres as disparate as contemporary classical composition, modern tango, and jazz improvisation. In this performance, Torch collaborates with videographer Scott Kolbo in his multi-media Passages which tells an inspiring story of resilience and hope, with a heavy dose of slapstick humor and absurdity. Seattle composer Ken Benshoof describes a TORCH performance as “… cool rhythms, a nice mix of humor and mystery… always felt part of an adventure.”
