I was contacted several months ago to perform a bass-oriented program to launch the City of Normandy Park's Classical Music Series. I thought I would reach for the stars and called my friends in the Opal string quartet to see if they would perform with me. We settled on a short program with Turina's La Oracion de Torero, followed by the third movement of Dragonetti's first double bass concerto, and finishing with one of Dvořák's many great works, the Quintet in G major Opus 77.
