Join the Emerald City Saxophone Quartet for a free outdoor concert at the Ballard Locks.

This concert is presented by the Friends of the Ballard Locks, as part of their 2019 Free Summer Concerts series.

The Friends of the Ballard Locks endeavors to identify, preserve, and make available records and papers, images, film, and artifacts of enduring historical value concerning the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, Carl S. English, Jr. Botanical Garden, and the Lake Washington Ship Canal. The Friends perform this mission as individual volunteers for the Seattle District of the US Army Corps of Engineers with the common bonds of a desire to document the history of these sites and serve the local community.

About Emerald City Saxophone Quartet

Emerald City Saxophone Quartet was founded to foster an appreciation for the saxophone quartet repertoire. The group participates in the annual Bach in the Subways program, retirement home life enrichment programs, music in the parks and at a variety of other community venues.

The musical pursuits of the members range from big bands, classical ensembles, theatre pit orchestras, to jazz ensembles. The result is a unique quartet with a unique sound that offers listeners an opportunity to experience the sound of brass in all its beauty and depth.
