Georges Bizet – Carmen
Bizet’s Carmen is one of opera’s favorite shows, with tons of music you will find familiar! Operamuse’s version has a twist. They are setting it in rural America, where there aren’t many options for entertainment. One of the few thriving businesses in the town is Lil’ Pasties Strip Club, where the most popular night of the week is Latin Night. Unfortunately, all of the Latin workers are striking due to unfair treatment and pay. The club owner has to make do with the staff he has left and hope for the best. Come see how it all works out for Don Jose, Michaëla, Escamillo, and the enchanting Carmen in this exciting and fun new production. Performers include Laura Loge, Rachelle Moss, Beth Grimmett Tankersley, and Samantha Gorham.
A Note from the Host
We’re so excited to host operamuse’s shortened and hilarified version of Carmen in our living room. We have two toddlers who only like The Wheels on the Bus, so if you’ve never heard classical music, you’ll be in good company! Bring your kiddos if you think they’ll enjoy it. WARNING: adult themes (e.g. death and cussing). The play takes place in a strip club. Drink responsibly and please don’t bring food inside the house.
A groupmuse is a live classical music house party/concert. It’s casual, friendly, and intimate. Equal parts musical and social, it’s a way to enjoy yourself and enrich yourself. Anyone can host one, and anyone can come.
30 spots total, $10+ minimum payment to musicians, $3 reservation fee, bring your own drinks, wheelchair not accessible, kid-friendly, RSVP for exact location.Get tickets | More info | + Google Calendar | + iCal import
