Vasilis Kostas, laouto
Layth Sidiq, violin

Note from the Host: "Greek laouto player Vasilis Kostas and Jordanian-Iraqi violinist Layth Sidiq are excited to announce the recording of their first duo album! This project is the outcome of playing together for the last five years in the US and Europe, through which they have developed a new sound and repertoire that explores the connections between their respective Greek and Arabic traditions, through the vehicle of contemporary improvisation.

"In this interactive concert Layth and Vasilis will be sharing songs to be featured on the album and the stories behind them, as well as provide an opportunity for the audience to ask questions and explore in depth the rich and beautiful traditions of Arabic and Greek Music.

"Our fundraising goal for this concert is to raise $1,000 that will complete our initial campaign and enable the duo to record their album in the new year!

"We thank you for your support in helping the Layth and Vasilis to continue spreading art from diverse cultures to audiences in concert halls and educational institutions throughout the world!"

The broadcast will take place at 1pm Eastern / 10am Pacific.
