Arcade Fire multi-instrumentalist and composer Richard Reed Parry was inspired by his
pandemic-induced isolation from musical collaboration to write a piece that would allow musicians from
around the world to perform together without worrying about internet speeds and connectivity. His new
work, Slow New Way, for a large ensemble of strings and percussion performing over Zoom, will premiere
Tuesday night on Living Music with Nadia Sirota: Pirate Radio Edition, an online streaming variety show.

Violist, broadcastor and curator Nadia Sirota’s music and talk show, Living Music with Nadia Sirota: Pirate
Radio Edition is recorded from her garage in Los Angeles and broadcasted every Tuesday night on
Facebook Live, with special guests performing from their homes.

Parry’s Slow New Way will use performers from across the globe, calling in from Berlin, New York,
Montreal and Los Angeles, among other cities. Tuesday night’s show also features a solo set by cellist
Clarice Jensen, including work from her recent album The Experience of Repetition as Death.

Living Music has been broadcast on Facebook Live since the early days of the quarantine in March. “I just
wanted to do something joyful,” host Nadia Sirota said. Having previously won a Peabody Award for her
podcast Meet the Composer, Nadia had been planning on releasing her new show Living Music this fall,
but in light of current events, she decided to fast track it. “None of us has anything to do! All of our gigs
were cancelled for the foreseeable future, and what I really miss is coming together -- a whole bunch of
people doing the same thing at the same time. Broadcasting this show gives us a chance at the type of
community a concert can create.”

Living Music with Nadia Sirota: Pirate Radio Edition is broadcast on Facebook Live every Tuesday
evening at 9pm eastern. All 24 previous episodes are available to stream on-demand at
livingmusicshow.com and feature such guests as Glenn Kotche, Nico Muhly, Kinan Azmeh, Emily King,
Sam Amidon and Anthony Roth Costanzo. Episode 25 airs Tuesday night, July 7th at 9pm eastern.
