About the artist
Described by Fanfare Magazine as “extraordinary” with “remarkably beautiful oboe playing,” Tim Gocklin is the oboist with the national award-winning Akropolis Reed Quintet and currently holds the position of Artist-In-Residence in Oboe at the University of Northern Colorado. Having begun in 2009, Akropolis has won six national chamber music prizes, including the Fischoff Gold Medal and Grand Prize at both the Plowman and MTNA chamber music competitions and has recorded 3 full studio albums of original works for reed quintet.

In addition to his success with Akropolis, Tim has also performed with ensembles such as Le Train Bleu under Ransom Wilson, The New York Chamber Soloists, The Colorado Music Festival, The Mozart Orchestra of New York under Gerard Schwarz, The Orchestra of St. Luke's, and The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. He has collaborated with musicians of the Dover and Miro String Quartets in addition to many artists of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center including David Shifrin, Carol Wincenc, and Tara Helen O’Connor.

Tim has taught and performed all over the country and around the world, including Abu Dhabi, Chile, Colombia, China, Germany and more. When not playing the oboe, Tim can be found hiking the Colorado trails or relaxing at home in Greeley with a freshly brewed pour over coffee and playing with his orange Tabby cat, Shino.

About the series
Recital Stream is a new platform for audiences and performers of classical music in response to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are all adjusting to a life lived further apart from one another. But staying at home needn't mean missing out on the thrill of witnessing great music, performed live. Indeed, as we navigate these treacherous and uncertain waters, it is our belief that we need great art more than ever.

Our outstanding featured artists will be presenting informal performances live from their living rooms to yours.

Artists across the world have been severely affected by the current crisis, as engagements evaporate and incomes are decimated for months. We recognise that particularly in these challenging times, not everyone will be able to spare the price of a concert ticket. That's why these livestreamed concerts are free for everyone to enjoy. For those with the means who would like to support our artists, however, there will be the opportunity to donate to them directly.
