Katherine Taylor, arborist
Kymani Thomas, cello

If a tree falls in a forest, do the other trees hear it? Why do some trees have a flat top, or grow over to one side, as if trying to touch their toes?

Please join us for all the answers as the Live Music Project celebrates its 6th birthday with a scintillating podcast-style chat with arborists Katherine Taylor and Katie Hogan, a mesmerizing solo cello performance by Kymani Thomas, a few moments of at-home yoga, and the most adorable cupcake toast this side of the Cascades.

In "If A Tree Falls...," join us for a walk of wonderment through the 5 tree sensations as arborists Katherine and Katie explain how trees respond to the world around them.

Next, we'll stretch our limbs and deepen our shared experience with a brief yoga exercise led by Datza Studios founder Datza Uldrike. #namastayinside

Then, cellist Kymani will mesmerize with the kind of performance that makes you lean forward, drop your chin in your palm, and take a deep, calming breath.

The theme for this year's shindig is "Root to Rise." This is a time for the LMP family to come together, to take root and get grounded, so that we can rise up from this unusual time even stronger than before, ready to face whatever lies ahead as we continue to support our community of listeners and music-makers. We have (cleverly) adapted our planned fundraising activities to the digital realm, and we can't wait to show you what we have in store.

We hope you'll join us for an all-ages, all-weather, all-locations celebration of 6 amazing years and many more to come.

About Live Music Project

The Live Music Project is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing arts access and arts community in Seattle and around the world.

We believe that a lack of resources should not be a barrier to audience. We believe that access to the arts begins with access to information about the arts.

Our purpose is to connect people with the means to access and experience live classical music in a way that strengthens community, celebrates listener agency, and amplifies local arts resources.
