Gary Stroutsos, Native American flutes

Musical Prayer from the Cathedral: Join us each Friday evening at 6:30pm as our Cathedral Musicians and friends present meditative music to soothe the soul and bring a quiet end to a busy week.

On February 19, we welcome Gary Stroutsos, whose live performances have captivated audiences around the world. His meditative flute music and time-honored stories evoke the lands and cultures that he has studied over the course of his 36-year career. Gary's mission is to carry the music forward to future generations and to promote stewardship of diverse cultures and the natural environment.

Each of Gary's engaging and unique solo performances is distinct, drawn from the inspiration of the space and the audience. His evocative musical style and use of humor transcends human differences in age and culture, connecting audiences in a shared contemplative space that transport them to a spirit of place.

Gary will play three different North American Indian flutes:
- Hopi Long Flutes
- Lakota flute
- Dakota Elk flute

We invite you to join the livestream at the St. James Cathedral, Seattle Facebook page, or at the Cathedral’s Vimeo page. If you are unable to watch live, the video will be archived for future viewing.
