Johannes Brahms – Viola Sonata in E-flat major, Op. 120 No. 2
Dmitri Shostakovich – Piano Trio No. 2 in E minor, Op. 67
Franz Schubert – String Quintet in C major, D. 956

At age 31, Franz Schubert was frantically composing while his health deteriorated and the reality set in that he was dying. His heavenly String Quintet in C major is revered by musicians for its melodic brilliance and rare emotional maturity. Dmitri Shostakovich wrote his second piano trio during one of the darkest moments of World War II – when Hitler's army surrounded Leningrad and survival became uncertain for millions of Russians.

Join the artists for a post-concert question-and-answer session immediately following the performance.

Tickets: $33-$40 ($20-$25 students, FREE for youth ages 7-12 w/RSVP)
