Guest conductor William White leads OSSCS in Dvořák's majestic Te Deum for chorus, soloists and orchestra, which the composer debuted in New York in October 1892. During his stay in the United States, Dvořák composed his “New World” Symphony, which has rightfully gone on to become one of his most acclaimed works. The program opens with the delightful overture Comes Autumn Time by Chicago composer and organist Leo Sowerby and the “Hunting Chorus” from Haydn’s The Seasons.
