Johannes Brahms – Piano Trio No. 1 in B major, Op. 8
One of the great masterworks of the chamber music repertoire, Johannes Brahms’ Piano Trio No. 1 (revised later in his career), presents a unique glimpse into a fusion of his early and late styles. The German-Argentine composer Mauricio Kagel’s Piano Trio No. 2 ranges from the absurd to the terrifying – a one-of-a-kind piece of music in every way, from its aesthetic to its expression and even the way the instruments are used. Arvo Pärt’s Mozart-Adagio offers a sublime meditation the second movement Mozart’s Sonata in F major, K. 280.
