The Resonance Masters Series is proud to present a piano master class with international concert artist Paul Barnes, who was recently named “Teacher of the Year” by the Nebraska MTA.
About Paul Barnes
Praised by the New York Times for his “Lisztian thunder and deft fluidity,” and the San Francisco Chronicle as “ferociously virtuosic,” pianist Paul Barnes has electrified audiences with his intensely expressive playing and cutting-edge programming. He has been featured five times on APM’s Performance Today, and his recordings are streamed worldwide. Barnes enjoys a special relationship with Philip Glass, having commissioned and premiered multiple works by the composer. With performances throughout Europe, the Near East, the Far East, and the US, Barnes’ unique lecture recitals have received international acclaim.
Student Applicants
Please have your teacher email mastersseries@resonance.events to recommend you for a spot in the master class. Resonance Masters Series will contact you to provide further instructions for the selection process. They encourage you to apply as early as possible. All decisions will be announced by April 19th, 2019. There is no application fee.
Attendees
Paul Barnes will perform in recital the next evening, May 11th, 2019 at 7:30 pm where he will perform Philip Glass’ Annunciation piano quintet with the Skyros Quartet, a work which Dr. Barnes commissioned and personally premiered during April of 2018. Guests may purchase tickets to the master class alone for $5 or purchase concert tickets for $30 and attend the masterclass at no additional charge.
