One of Bach’s most cherished works, his Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, opens this program. Gabriela Lena Frank’s string quartet Leyendas: An Andean Walkabout seamlessly blends cultural and musical traditions, evoking Andean and Incan imagery. SPCO Principal Horn James Ferree shines alongside his fellow SPCO musicians in Mozart’s Divertimento for two horns and string quintet.
