Alan Jay Lerner & Frederick Loewe – Camelot: Symphonic Suite (arr. Bennett)
Edvard Grieg – Peer Gynt: Suite No. 1
Ludwig van Beethoven – Egmont: Overture and Incidental Music, Op. 84

Three major theatrical works – by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe, Henrik Ibsen, and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe – are brought together via their scores for this unique season opener. The many fine tunes from Camelot, the Lerner and Loewe musical that featured Richard Burton and Julie Andrews in its first-ever cast, will be heard in the splendid orchestral medley assembled by Robert Russell Bennett. Edvard Grieg's immortal music for Ibsen's Peer Gynt is represented by a suite climaxing in the ever-terrifying "In the Hall of the Mountain King." Ludwig van Beethoven's incidental music for Goethe's Egmont is known almost exclusively by its rousing overture; the Sammamish Symphony presents a rare performance of Beethoven's complete score with narration and solo voice, with the respective talents of Terry Edward Moore and Laura Loge.
