Seattle Chamber Music Society

Seattle Chinese Garden, Seattle, WA

7:30pm – Student recitals
8:00pm – Live audio broadcast from Benaroya Hall

Every Seattle Chamber Music Society Summer Festival concert is broadcast into Seattle Parks where audiences enjoy chamber music in a casual, comfortable environment. The Music Under the Stars series is the perfect event to pack a picnic and bring your friends to the park and listen to these audio-only broadcasts. Before the broadcast and during intermission, talented, local student musicians perform live. Last year, over 2,600 people enjoyed these SCMS broadcasts.

The student recitals begin at 7:30 and the live audio broadcast gets under way at 8pm, with another short student performance during the intermission at Benaroya. This evening, the following live program will be broadcast from Benaroya Hall to the park:

Fanny Mendelssohn – String Quartet in E-flat major
Tessa Lark, violin / Jun Iwasaki, violin / Cynthia Phelps, viola / Yegor Dyachkov, cello

Sebastian Currier – Voyage Out (world premiere)
Yura Lee, violin / Erin Keefe, violin / Jonathan Vinocour, viola / Raphael Bell, cello / Jeewon Park, piano

Antonín Dvořák – Piano Quartet No. 2 in E-flat major, Op. 87
James Ehnes, violin / Aloysia Friedmann, viola / Bion Tsang, cello / Jon Kimura Parker, piano

This year, SCMS is expanding from four to five parks!
