Program Notes
Fanny Mendelssohn’s String Quartet gives us a full view of her talents as a composer. She opens with an atypical slow movement and ends the piece triumphantly.
Currier's new work, Voyage Out, was commissioned by the SCMS Commissioning Club. This is the world premiere of the new piece.
Dvořák admitted that the melodies appeared to him faster than he could write them while working on this Piano Quartet. The entire piece is infused with some of his most beautiful writing.
