The Seattle Flute Society presents a day of events as part of the Seattle Flute Festival featuring a recital and workshop with Trudy Kane. Events to include a Flute Choir Showcase, Young Artist Recital Final Round, vendors, a recital performed by Trudy Kane, and more!

This year's workshop will be: "A Flutist at the Opera, University, and More: A Career Retrospective." Trudy Kane presents a retrospective of her varied career in music in the opera, recording studio, recital hall, and university, exploring different facets of pursuing a career in music.

About Trudy Kane
Trudy Kane joined the faculty of the Frost School of Music, University of Miami in 2008 after 32 years as principal flutist of the Metropolitan Opera. Currently active as a recitalist and chamber musician, she has also done a number of transcriptions of works for multiple flutes. She loves performing new musicĀ and has been actively involved in the creation of some. Ellen Zwillich's Concerto Elegia was commissioned by the Frost School for her in 2015. Her favorite title is teacher and she is thrilled to be sharing the wealth of her experience with the next generation.
