Join the Seattle Philharmonic Strings for their third concert of the season, featuring an exquisite all-Bach first half, miniatures by Sibelius, and the tempestuous Verdi string quartet. Co-music director Adam Stern conducts his own transcription of the Bach Prelude and Fugue in G minor from book two of the Well-Tempered Clavier, pianist Laure Struber joins the orchestra for the sublime Keyboard Concerto in D, and Allion Salvador conducts the timeless Air on the G String. The second half showcases late romantic compositional voices, with an impromptu and pastoral suite by Sibelius, ending with Verdi's final great piece of chamber music, here transcribed for virtuoso string orchestra.
This event is free and open to the public. No ticket required!
