Come savor 35 dynamic choirs from around the Puget Sound region in the fourth biennial Seattle Sings Choral Festival October 10, 11 and 12, 2019, sponsored by The Greater Seattle Choral Consortium.

Participating choirs run the gamut of types and styles and local regions: men’s and women’s choirs as well as SATB, a Japanese, an eastern European and a Norwegian choir, medieval to barbershop, jazz to classical, choirs from the Eastside, Bainbridge Island, Everett and Kent and beyond – there is something to please every taste.

Admission is free; come and go as you please. Friday evening is devoted to honoring Northwest composer Morten Lauridsen for his many years of service to choral music, and will feature six choirs presenting a retrospective of his works. Lauridsen himself will be in attendance and to cap the evening will lead the audience and choirs in one of his most beloved works, Sure On This Shining Night.

The Seattle Sings Choral Festival is also pleased to welcome another Northwest composer, Ethan Sperry, as composer-in-residence. Mr. Sperry is a prolific composer of choral music that draws on styles from around the world. He is composing a work commissioned by The Greater Seattle Choral Consortium especially for the festival, which will be sung by choirs and audience periodically throughout the festival.

The GSCC is a non-profit organization which provides advocacy, support, resource sharing, and outreach to more than 90 choral arts organizations throughout the Puget Sound region. In keeping with our mission and vision, the GSCC is proud to gather together 35 of our member choirs in a three-day event of free public performances.
