Richard Egarr, conductor

Arcangelo Corelli – Concerto grosso in D major, Op. 6, No. 1
George Frideric Handel – Concerto grosso in B-flat major, Op. 3, No. 2
Georg Muffat – Armonico Tributo No. 5
George Frideric Handel – Concerto grosso in D minor, Op. 6, No. 10
Henry Purcell – Dido's Lament
George Frideric Handel – Music for the Royal Fireworks

Handel was no stranger to spectacle, but he outdid himself in the Music for the Royal Fireworks, a pyrotechnic celebration of peace that still sizzles in the modern concert hall. The flip side of such heightened Baroque emotion is evident in Dido’s Lament, the heartbreaking death scene by Purcell.

Wine tastings begin at 6:30pm in the Samuel & Althea Stroum Grand Lobby. $15 for four pours.
