From the rapturous sunrise in Daphnis et Chloé to the sultry jazz tones in the Concerto in G, Ravel’s orchestral scores saturate the stage with extravagant colors. For these ornate French creations, the delight is in the details, and the details are never more vibrant than when Ludovic Morlot works within the perfect acoustics of Benaroya Hall. He joins forces with pianist Steven Osborne, “whose approach to Ravel combines clarity with heart” (The Guardian). Debussy’s Printemps offers an early glimpse of this imaginative composer.
