Two major works by Johannes Brahms ring the rafters of Benaroya Hall in April. First, the 2017 SYSO Concerto Competition winner, Adrian Steele, joins the orchestra for a performance of Brahms’ passionate and virtuosic Violin Concerto. Then, a work that took nearly twenty years to complete: Brahms’s Symphony No. 1 with its majestic and triumphant final movement, which is often called “Beethoven’s Tenth Symphony.”
