Beginning with music from Paul Chihara’s ballet The Tempest, The Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra welcomes talented Seattle Symphony violinist Mae Lin to perform Poéme by Ernest Chausson and perform two American pieces featuring the Seattle Choral Company – Bernstein’s “Make our Garden Grow” from Candide and Copland’s “The Promise of Living” from The Tender Land. To complete their season, a combined orchestra of SYSO alumni and current student musicians will showcase Benaroya Hall’s spectacular organ with the concert finale of Saint-Saens’s rousing Organ Symphony.
