Sine Nomine: Renaissance Choir

To celebrate its 10th Anniversary, Sine Nomine Renaissance Choir, a community collegium ensemble of Early Music Seattle conducted by Artistic Director Anne Lyman, will perform some of its members’ favorite pieces. Every song is a Renaissance gem: from Binchois to Byrd, 15th to 17th centuries, from England, Italy, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and France. We feature Gombert’s ‘Lugebat David Absalon’ and Byrd’s ‘Tribue Domine’, and offer other motets and songs by Byrd, Binchois, Encina, Gesualdo, Guerrero, Josquin, Palestrina, Praetorius and Tallis. A preconcert lecture will be presented by Founding Director Gary Cannon at 4:00pm.

William Byrd – Laudibus in sanctis
Giles Binchois – Nove cantum melodie
Josquin des Prez/Pierre De La Rue – Absalon fili mi
