Leopold Godowsky – Triakontameron

The world celebrates the 150th birthday of legendary pianist, composer, and pedagogue Leopold Godowsky. At the opening concert of Godowsky's Festival in Seattle, the head of keyboard studies of Seattle Pacific University, Dr. Dainius Vaičekonis, will present a recital of Godowsky’s suite Triakontameron, written 100 years ago at the time the composer lived in Seattle. The suite contains 30 pieces with a great variety of inspirations, including themes of the American Northwest, Europe, and Africa, culminating in an astounding rendition of The Star Spangled Banner.

This is the first of three concerts for SPU’s “Godowsky Festival in Seattle”
