Resonance at SOMA Towers and the Northwest Edvard Grieg Society present the fourth concert of performances of the complete songs of Edvard Grieg. Laura Loge, soprano, Alan Dunbar, baritone, and Knut Erik Jensen, piano will perform The Complete Songs of Edvard Grieg: A Norwegian Holiday. This program will include songs about and surrounding holidays, from Christmas to Easter, to grand holiday adventures and Norwegian religious experiences. Highlighted in this concert are songs from the incidental music to Peer Gynt. Enjoy a festive evening, led by three experts in Grieg’s song repertoire.
This is the fourth of seven concerts over the next three years presenting the complete songs of Edvard Grieg, sponsored by the Northwest Edvard Grieg Society.
This concert will include Grieg's Op. 10, 23 (Songs from Peer Gynt), 49, and 61 as well as EGs 122, 123, 139, 144, 146, 150, 155, and 156.
About Alan Dunbar
Dr. Brian Dunbar, a native of St. Augustine, FL, enjoys performing as a soloist, orchestral performer, and chamber musician, in addition to his activities as a flute instructor. He earned a Doctor of Musical Arts from Louisiana State University, Master of Music from the University of Michigan, and Bachelor of Music from Stetson University. Dr. Dunbar is the Assistant Professor of Flute at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. Previously he held teaching positions at Southern University and A&M College, Southeastern Louisiana University, and Louisiana State University.
