Ensemble ARTIFICE performs "Treasures from the Codex Rost - The Greatest Hits of the 17th Century" at the 2018 Whidbey Island Music Festival. The Codex Rost, compositions compiled and collected by music copyist Franz Rost, is a staple of early music from the 17th century. Many of these compositions are by anonymous composers, and it remains one of the most important sources of instrumental European Early Music.
About the Festival
The Whidbey Island Music Festival (WIMF) presents vibrant performances on period instruments of repertoire ranging from Monteverdi to Beethoven on beautiful Whidbey Island, WA. The 2018 Whidbey Island Music Festival begins Saturday, July 27th and runs through August 4th with two weekends of concerts.
