Is a score a work of art or only a way to instruct a musician what to play?

Inverted Space has commissioned four new graphic scores in spirit of Earle Brown to inhabit a dual world: both as visual art and instruction for performance. These scores will be shown and performed at Common AREA Maintenance on February 12th and March 4th at 7:30 pm.

Graphic Scores by Luke Fitzpatrick, Ania Stachurska, Jacob Sundstrom, and Kevin Baldwin will be premiered.

This concert is supported in part by a grant from the Paul R. Judy Center for Applied Research at the Eastman School of Music.
