Angelique Poteat – Listen to the Girls (world premiere)

The Seattle Collaborative Orchestra continues its innovative programming featuring new music and up-and-coming performers. In this concert, we premiere Listen to the Girls by local composer and clarinetist Angelique Poteat, present the West Coast premiere of SIRENS for Orchestra by noted composer Leanna Primiani, and hear rising Soprano Marcy Stonikas and the exciting Northwest Girlchoir.

Marcy Stonikas recently sang Ariadne with the Seattle Opera. The Northwest Girlchoir, led by artistic director Sara Boos, offers girls and young women a transformational experience through music education and artistic excellence.

The Seattle Collaborative Orchestra (SCO) is a multigenerational performing arts organization devoted to music education and bringing classical and new symphonic works into local schools and communities.

It is our aim to create engaging and educational collaborative experiences by coupling gifted student musicians from Seattle-area high schools and universities with experienced professionals from Seattle premier ensembles, such as Seattle Symphony, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Simple Measures in order to promote exciting new music by female and Pacific Northwest composers.
