Harpist Monica Schley leads The Daphnes, an unconventional trio of harp, violin, upright bass and voice. Drawing sounds from neo-folkster M. Ward, 90s alternative bands Mazzy Star and Cowboy Junkies, and jazz musicians Pharaoh Sanders and Alice Coltrane, Schley writes modern compositions for the harp. The Daphnes’ soaring melodies evoke a gypsy folk aesthetic inside a classical chamber ensemble.
This venue is free and open to all ages. Dinner served until 9pm.
