Breath of Aire: Hill Family Concert Series at Longview Community Church

The Annual Hill Memorial Concert was established in 1993, to honor John and Esther Hill. Both were musicians and actively involved in the musical life of Longview and the Longview Community Church. John Hill sang in the church choir for decades; he often served as song leader and Esther as pianist for church and community events from the 1920’s on. Esther Bottorff-Hill, crippled by polio from early childhood, taught piano to hundreds of Longview children in her studio in the family home on Nichols Boulevard. She was widely recognized for her teaching of music. Longview and the Community Church were central to the Hills’ lives.
