Italian pianist Filippo Gorini is praised for his rare intellect, temperament, and vivid imagination. In 2015, he received first prize at the Telekom-Beethoven Competition in Bonn. For his Seattle debut, Gorini takes the listener on a journey from Beethoven's harmonious Sonata, Op. 110 through the folk-like melodies of Bartók's Sonata, across the cerebral landscape of Stockhausen's Klavierstück IX, and ultimately to the heights of Beethoven's last piano sonata.
