Johann Sebastian Bach — Selected works

For the last two years, Bach in the Subways Seattle has SHATTERED records for Bach performances in a single city: more than 300 musicians, 150 performances in a dozen locations, a COMPLETE Well-Tempered Clavier marathon – almost 60 hours of public Bach!

Concerts are free and will take place throughout Seattle on March 23 & 24. Please check the Bach in the Subways website for the most up-to-date concert schedule, as concerts are still being added to the program.

We would like to give a standing ovation to Sound Transit, which has been very generous in providing space to Bach in the Subways Seattle; to Classic Pianos of Bellevue, which has generously provided pianos for our performances; and to Classical KING FM 98.1. All three have supported Bach in the Subways Seattle since the beginning.

About Bach in the Subways

Bach in the Subways is an international movement founded by cellist Dale Henderson to sow the seeds for future generations of classical music lovers by generating public interest and excitement for the art form. Every year around March 21, Johann Sebastian Bach's birthday, musicians around the world celebrate Bach in the Subways Day by offering performances in subways, public spaces, and concerts open to all. The music is given freely as a gift, and as an invitation to further explore classical music.
