Antonín Dvořák – String Quintet in E-flat major, Op. 97 "American"
In 1893, Antonín Dvořák visited Iowa and had the opportunity to hear the music of the local Native Americans. This chance encounter inspired him to write the famed "American" quartet and the String Quintet, Op. 97 – two works that share a similar palette of radiant colors and emotions.
