Music Northwest presents the World Premiere of Northwest composer Clement Reid's Poems by Phillis Wheatley; Included in this virtual program are songs by Copland: "Simple Gifts" from Appalachian Spring and "At the River" from Old American Songs; as well as African-American composers Florence B. Price: Sympathy and Song to the Dark Virgin with text by Langston Hughes; and Jerrell Gray: Serenity Prayer with text by Reinhold Niebuhr. This project is an online art video recording to view at your leisure.

About Jane Harty

Jane Harty is an active and diverse recitalist of solo and chamber music repertoire, and has appeared in recitals throughout the United States as both a pianist and harpsichordist. Her teachers have included Blanche Bascourret de Gueraldi, a student of Cortot; and Johanna Graudan, a student of Schnabel. She was also a participant in the classes of Nadia Boulanger.
