In this winter program, we are designing an arc that speaks to the season a little differently. Those attending choral concerts during winter months are looking for many things- some sacred, some secular- but we dove into a discussion revolving around the commonalities of what they might be looking for. The season is busy, hearts might be tired or lonely, and above all most are looking to be uplifted. Though there are some elements of sacred music in "A Silence Haunts Me", the majority of the concert, this time, will be mostly secular. The arc will involve setting the tone with that of the loss and heartache we might feel in our own lives. Families apart, or illness, or loss of love. We will acknowledge these early in the program with the hope of connecting all concert goers to each other. The commonality of humanity and its sometimes heavy reality. After, however, we have programmed music that will bring us together through love, help us reminisce, and bring smiles to faces. It is our intent to still do touching and heartfelt music this winter and feel that by resonating with things we have in common, we can still create and experience anyone can enjoy.
