The Takt Trio performs the Brahms horn trio alongside the classic 20th-century work it inspired: Ligeti's horn trio, itself an homage à Brahms. The Library of Congress holds the holograph manuscript of Brahms' trio in its collection, and it is a special treat to hear these works back-to-back, as they are oft-heralded as the representative works for this ensemble in their century of composition.

Pre-concert Lecture: "Is That Natural? A Closer Look at the Horn Trios of Brahms and Ligeti" by David Plylar, PhD, Music Division, 12:30pm, Whittall Pavilion.

This concert was rescheduled from the 2022/23 season, due to repairs of the Coolidge Auditorium. Tickets from the previous date will not be honored. All interested in attending must register for the new date.
