World-renowned pianist Yefim Bronfman is a virtuoso with rare versatility, and in this solo recital he applies his “superhuman hands” (The New York Times) to the piano works of four giants and a noteworthy contemporary piece. Hear Schubert’s hauntingly tragic Piano Sonata in A Minor, R. Schumann’s witty and energetic Faschingsschwank aus Wien (Carnival Jest from Vienna), a timeless nocturne by Chopin, one of Prokofiev’s most forceful piano sonatas, and a piece dedicated to Bronfman by renowned conductor and composer Esa-Pekka Salonen.
